A Keto Samosa is a variation of the traditional Indian snack, made with almond flour instead of wheat flour to make it suitable for a low-carb, ketogenic diet. The almond flour gives the samosas a crispy texture and a nutty flavor that compliments the savory filling of vegetables and spices.
Start by preparing the filling. In a pan, heat some oil and sauté the chopped vegetables and ground meat or paneer (if using) for about 5 minutes.
Add the spices (cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder) and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes and then remove from heat. Allow the filling to cool.
In a separate bowl, mix together the almond flour, salt, and coconut oil. Slowly add in the water and knead until a dough forms.
Roll the dough into a ball and let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Take a portion of the dough and roll it out into a thin circle. Cut the circle into a semi-circle.
Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of the semi-circle and fold the dough over to form a triangular shape.
Pinch the edges to seal the samosa and then brush with some coconut oil.
Place the samosas on a baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes & Tips
Notes & Comments
You can also deep-fry the samosas instead of baking them for a crispy texture.
These samosas can be served with chutney or yogurt for dipping.
You can store the cooked samosas in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
