Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dates / khajoor seedless
  • ¼ cup dry coconut / khopra chopped
  • 1 tsp ghee / clarified butter
  • ½ cup almond / badam chopped
  • ½ cup cashew chopped
  • 2 tsp Raisins
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds / khus khus

Instructions
 

  • Take 1 cup seedless dates in a blender and blend to coarse paste without adding any water.

  • In a large kadai heat 1 tbsp ghee and add ½ cup almonds, ½ cup cashew, 2 tbsp raisins and ¼ cup dry coconut.

  • Roast on low flame for 5 minutes or till nuts turn crunchy.
  • Now add 1 tsp poppy seeds and roast for 2 minutes.
  • Add in crushed dates and mix well.
  • Continue to fry on medium flame smashing dates with a spatula. This helps dates to separate out and mix uniformly with other dry fruits.
  • Saute till the dates start releasing oil.
  • Turn off the flame and allow to cool for 4 to 5 minutes
  • Then immediately start making ladoos. Do not cool completely, then you wont be able to make Ladoos.
  • Finally, serve immediately or store dates ladoo in airtight container for a month or more.

Notes & Tips

  • Choice of dry fruits: You can choose any dry fruits as per your preference. Also, you can add seeds like melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds.
  • Protein Ladoo: You can eat them for energy instead of market protein bars. It is way more healthier.
  • Preparing Ladoos: Do not cool it off completely while making ladoos, otherwise it will not take proper shape. If it feels sticky, grease your palm with little ghee.
