Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams ripe mango
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • dry fruits
  • kesar strings

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • As I always say, assemble all ingredients together to avoid last minute rush.
  • Wash and peel mangoes and chop them into small pieces and discard the stones.
  • Roughly chop dry fruits.

Method

  • Transfer mango pieces and sugar into a Blender and blend to make a smooth puree.
  • Now, add water or alternatively could add 5-6 ice cubes and blend again for 1-2 minutes.
  • Transfer it to the Serving Bowl and garnish with chopped dry fruits of your choice and kesar strings.
  • Serve Aamras with Poori and Potato Curry!

Notes & Tips

  • Choosing Mangoes: Taste the mangoes before making Aamras Recipe. If they are sour, then add more sugar in method step 1.
  • Off Season Trick: To preserve the mangoes for a year, chop the mangoes into small pieces and freeze them in zip lock bags for up to a year and enjoy Aamras in off-season as well. If you are using frozen mango then thaw mango cubes in refrigerator before making mango puree. Do not choose over ripe mangoes for storing it into freezer.
  • Additional Add Ons: You could add 1/8 tsp cardamom powder or kesar strings before serving Aamras.
