  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1 cup jaggery / gur
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water
  • ghee / clarified butter

  • Soaking the Rice: Start by washing and soaking the rice in water for at least 3 hours or overnight. Drain the water and grind the soaked rice to a fine paste in a mixer grinder. Keep the rice paste aside.
  • Preparing the Coconut Stuffing: Heat a pan over medium heat and dry roast the grated coconut until it turns golden brown in color. Add the jaggery and cardamom powder to the roasted coconut and stir well until the jaggery melts and combines with the coconut. Keep this coconut stuffing aside.

Cooking Steps:

  • Preparing the Pitha Batter: In a mixing bowl, add the rice paste, salt, and water as required. Mix well to make a smooth and thick batter. Keep the batter aside for 10-15 minutes.
