Ingredients
  

For Marinating Chicken

  • 750 gm Chicken Breast / boneless chicken cut into medium thick pieces
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Onions grated
  • 4-5 green chillies or 1 tbsp green chili paste
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste

For Paste

  • 1 cup coriander leaves / cilantro
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt

Other Ingredients

  • coriander leaves / cilantro
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Assemble all ingredients together to avoid last minute rush.
  • Peel, rinse and grate the onions. Keep in a bowl.
  • You can also use ½ inch ginger and 3-4 cloves garlic in place of ginger garlic paste. Finely grate them.
  • Finely chop fresh green chilies (if using) or use green chili paste. Both works well.
  • Let’s marinate the chicken first. Take a big mixing bowl and add chicken, grated onion, green chillies or green chili paste, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, oil, red chili powder and salt. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight in fridge for best results.
  • Now, for paste: Take grinder jar and all ingredients mentioned in paste. And, grind to a fine paste. Keep aside for later use.

Cooking

  • Heat remaining 1 tbsp oil in a skillet or pan over medium flame.
  • Add the marinated chicken and cover the pan or skillet. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until 80% done. Please note, bone in chicken would take more time than boneless chicken.

  • Now, remove the lid of pan and stir the chicken.
  • Add the ground coriander paste and cover again.

  • Continue to cook further until chicken is cooked completely.
  • Finish it with lemon juice after switching off the flame. Mix in the chicken.
  • Serve Andhra Chili Chicken with rice or roti.
