  • 40 grams garlic peeled
  • 20 grams coconut dry coconut powder
  • 10 grams Sesame seeds
  • 10 grams Red Chilli Powder
  • 5 grams Salt
  • 5 grams tamarind paste
  • 10 ml Oil

Preparation

  • Peeling Garlic: Begin by peeling the garlic cloves. Make sure they are clean and free of any dirt or skin.
  • Ready Ingredients: Measure and keep all ingredients ready. Use desiccated coconut or dry coconut flakes as they blend well in the chutney.

Cooking

  • Roasting Ingredients: In a pan, heat 1 tsp of oil. Add garlic cloves and roast them until they turn golden brown. Remove and set aside. In the same pan, roast the desiccated coconut and sesame seeds separately until they are golden brown.
  • Blending: Once all the roasted ingredients have cooled down, put them in a grinder. Add red chili powder, salt, and tamarind paste. Blend everything into a coarse powder. You don't want it to be too smooth; a slightly grainy texture is desired.
  • Storage: Transfer the chutney into an airtight container. It can be stored at room temperature for a week and in the refrigerator for up to a month.
