Ingredients
  

  • 1 cauliflower / gobi cut into florets
  • 2 cups all purpose flour / maida
  • 2 cups cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • Salt
  • Oil

Instructions
 

Pre-Cooking Prep Steps:

  • Cut the cauliflower into florets and wash them thoroughly
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, soy sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar and salt
  • Mix the ingredients until a smooth batter is formed
  • Add the cauliflower florets to the batter and mix until they are well coated
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes

Cooking Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or a large, deep pan over medium-high heat
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the cauliflower florets to the pan and fry them for 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy
  • Remove the cauliflower from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain off any excess oil
  • In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté it for a minute
  • Add finely chopped onions, capsicum and sauté it for 2 minutes
  • Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili powder, salt and vinegar, and stir to combine
  • Add 1/4 cup of water and bring the mixture to a simmer
  • Add the fried cauliflower to the pan and toss to coat it well with the sauce
  • Cook for a further 2-3 minutes or until the sauce has thickened and the cauliflower is heated through.
