Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 green chillies
  • ½ spring onion
  • ½ capsicum / bell peppers
  • 4 beans
  • 1 Carrot
  • ¼ cabbage
  • 4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp red sauce / red chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cornflour

Instructions
 

Preparations

  • Assemble all ingredients together to avoid last minute rush.
  • Wash all vegetables in running water.
  • Finely chop all vegetables.
  • You can use red or white onions, if you don’t have spring onions.

Cooking

  • To start making Hot & Sour Recipe, take a Cooking Pot and heat 2 tbsp oil and stir fry chopped garlic, ginger and green chilli.
  • Add all other chopped vegetables.
  • Stir fry for 2 minutes or until the veggies are partially cooked.

  • Now add 4 cup water, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp vinegar and 1 tsp chilly sauce.
  • also, add ½ tsp pepper powder and ½ tsp salt.
  • boil for 2 minutes until flavors are mixed together.
  • Now make cornflour slurry by mixing 2 tbsp cornflour in ¼ cup water.
  • Mix the cornflour slurry in the soup.
  • Continue to boil for 2-3 minutes till soup thickens.
  • At the end, add chopped spring onion.
  • Voila! Your Hot & Sour Soup is ready. Enjoy!

  • Can use pre-made stock? Yes, you can use pre-made stock but I recommend don't use any pre - made stock. Let the vegetables simmer in the boiling water with spices. Soup will become tastier. Try once to see the difference!
  • Spiciness: You can increase or decrease the spiciness of your soup recipe by adding more red chilli powder or black pepper powder.
  • Cornflour: Cornflour thickens the soup, but you can skip it totally if you don’t want to add cornflour.
  • Serving: Always serve soup hot. You can serve Soup with Garlic Bread or any other Herb bread
